The Best Thing since sliced bread!

Ok, ok I've been really bad about blogging, commenting, etc on Active Rain for the past few months. I do sneak on every few weeks or so and try to read a few blogs. But to be honest we've been swamped with buyers and sellers and I haven't been very good about participating. I don't know what all this talk about a slow market is because we sure haven't been experiencing it!

Well, a few mornings ago I got an email from Active Rain, this is exactly what it said:

Mr. Seller

Email Address:

sell home

I would like to discuss with you selling my North Port home in the Heron Creek Country Club. Please call me at xxx-xxxx during business hours.

So, we give the guy a call and he's looking at selling his home in an exclusive area of North Port. We would list his home in the high 500's. I'll let you know how this one goes.

Well, during the same week we got this email from David Abernathy of Ocena 30 Marketing Group. He has a customer looking for property in Port Charlotte. Here's what David had to say:

Hello ladies,

I am David Abernathy, a Realtor in Palm Beach County and just received another lead for a prospect looking for property in the Port Charlotte area. I was online working on Active Rain at the time and went looking for an Agent or Team that looked like they knew the area and had the drive and experience to take care of clients.

Anyway, the prospect is looking to relocate to your area in the next 2 months and is looking in the $275,000 to $325,000 price range.
Please let me know if you are interested.

David Abernathy
Marker One Realtors

I guess that's not too bad a return for not blogging in several months and spending no money on advertising our AR profile.

I've seen many blogs in the past asking if anyone has received any business from AR. Well, here's my proof to what's come our way in just the past week. Keep blogging, commenting and updating. This is the best thing since sliced bread!

Roxanne & Shannon:

I've had one referral so far but I also have been using others to refer business to.  Active Rain has been great, I love it.

Your title is what really got me excited because I really don't know where the term " THe best thing since sliced bread" came from.  I'm from Hawaii and as far back as I can remember (which is a long time ago when Hawaii was a territory of the U.S.), sliced bread has been on my table.  Now maybe my mom sliced the bread before it arrived there but was sliced bread really a big deal here in the U.S. Mainland?

You got my attention on this one.

Roxanne & Shannon, Happy Thursday!

That's's great that some tangible benefit has came your way. They is probably enough sliced bread to go around for's my sliced bread.

Hi Ken, not sure how that expression came about but it seemed appropriate for this post! BTW, I've always wanted to visit Hawaii. I hear it's beautiful!

Hey Ron, too funny! You used that expression as well. I guess great minds think alike :)

Hey Thanks Fran. Cool logo! OK, it there someone fixin' up you girls with these fancy logos or are you makin' 'em by yourselves. TLW had a really cool logo. I'm gonna try to be more disciplined and keep my nose to the grindstone :)
Posted by Shannon Moore, Realtor, Sarasota & Charlotte (Green Lion Realty) about 13 years ago

Thanks Bryant! It's like one big family here :) I haven't strayed to far from your blogs ever. If I missed a few one week I would go back and read through the ones I missed. If I found some I really, really  liked (which was quite a few)  I would copy and paste them in an email and send them off to mom so she could read 'em as well.

What the heck is a Lychee anyway? Some kind of nut or something?

Hi Lisa and Robert,

Thanks for adding me to your associate list. I'll reciprocate as soon as I can remember how. I'm a little rusty on getting around. I knew how to do it a few months back. I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out :)

Ah, Moores - but how many more referrals might you have received if you had continuously blogged??? Glad to see you back and active. Like prospecting, you need to blog at least a little while you're busy, too.
