South West Florida Real Estate News-North Port-Port Charlotte-Venice-Englewood-Punta Gorda

What kind of computer do you use? I’m using a Dell Latitude D610. I like it but I’m thinking of switching and getting a “tablet” computer. The kind you can “write” on the screen. The only problem is that I don’t believe Dell makes a tablet and I really have had good luck with their service, etc. Anyone got any suggestions/comments?

I like the new HP laptops.  Nice size screen, not too loaded with a bunch of trial software you'll never use.

It really depends on the style of Tablet that you want. Some folks like the slate style like the Motion Tablets (pricy for what you get)

I like the convertible style with the attached (rotating screen) keyboard. I recently turned in my 3 year old Toshiba M205 for the new Gateway widescreen Tablet. The gateway is great, it's fast and loaded... but most importantly (for me) it has a larger screen. I loved the Toshiba but really wanted more screen real estate (same problem with most Tablets).

The only problem with the Gateway is the weight, it and the large Acer are both heavier machines, weighing in around 8lbs.

I also use a Gateway convertible tablet. I love it! The feature I use most is being able to "print" into windows journal and then being able to draw, write highlight or whatever using the pen. Great for reading in bed too. It is on the heavy side but hey I'm 6'2 260 lbs so not much of a big deal to me!

Great choice, I agree about the Gateway, but I would upgrade that barebones model a bit, although it is fine for the near future computing....

...512 mb of RAM and a 1.66ghz processor is not all that great and while it says that it is Vista capable, it will be at the bare minimum. Getting the upgraded video card would also be a nice choice.

The extended warranty is a personal choice, but I like the accidental damage plan... my tablet gets a lot of use.

Looks like it's safe to say that most people are in favor of the Gateway. Thanks for all of your input!
