COOPERATION OR DESPERATION?

After years of bickering and competition, it looks at if much of Southwest Florida will soon be part of a mutual alliance to share listing information and lockbox access.

This would enable agents from Bradenton to Naples to have access to the same information without having to access several completely different MLS systems.

Right now, our keypads are only good in a restricted area. The new alliance should benefit North Port particularly well since we are right in the middle, and many of the agents from 50 miles away make the day trip to our area for the best real estate bargains. Even agents from Miami drive three hours to the west coast of Florida to present the more casual and less expensive lifestyle.

Easier access to neighboring MLS properties will certainly be a boon to our market. Let's make it easier for "outside" agents to sell our listings. If they have the buyers, we have the bargains!
